We have partnered with Neuromod Devices Ltd to bring you this amazing, innovative, clinically recognized tinnitus treatment device. The treatment was proven in large-scale clinical trials and with real world patients to reduce the symptoms of tinnitus.

Lenire is a bimodal neuromodulation device for tinnitus that has been shown to reduce symptoms and improve the quality of life of people living with tinnitus. It is a non-invasive, home-use medical device with CE-mark certification for the treatment of tinnitus, provided by our highly qualified audiologist at London Hearing.

Our Chief Audiologist, Shamim Patel was one of the first audiologist to be clinically licensed in the UK to provide patients suffering with tinnitus, with the Lenire treatment in July 2021 at The Tinnitus Clinic Ltd in London.

What is the Lenire® treatment and what does it involve?

Lenire uses dual-mode neuromodulation to reduce tinnitus severity by combining mild electrical stimulation of the tongue with sound delivered through headphones. This paired stimulation promotes adaptive neuroplastic changes in the brain, helping to reduce the perception of tinnitus and the brain’s tendency to monitor or focus on it.

For the treatment you are provided with:

  • Headphones: Bluetooth headphones which deliver customised sounds to activate the auditory nerve to the brain.
  • Tonguetip: The Tonguetip, specifically designed to treat tinnitus, sits comfortably in the closed mouth. Tiny electrodes on the Tonguetip deliver mild and safe energy pulses to the surface of the tip of the tongue.
  • Controller: A lightweight handheld device that controls the timing, intensity and volume of the treatment.

Understanding the Technology

    Customised sounds are played through Bluetooth® headphones to activate the nerve involved in hearing (the auditory nerve).

    Mild and safe energy pulses are delivered to the surface of the tip of the tongue to activate touch nerves to the brain.

    The activated nerves convert the sound and the energy pulses into signals that are relayed to the brain, where over time the unique signal patterns work to reduce and soothe the perceived tinnitus experience.
