Shamim Patel
Shamim Patel BSc RHAD
Shamim is the Chief Audiologist at London Hearing, bringing extensive clinical and leadership experience from both NHS and private practice.
She previously worked as a Consultant Audiologist and Practice Manager at The Tinnitus & Hearing Clinic in London, where she specialised in the assessment and management of tinnitus and sound sensitivity disorders.
Shamim holds a BSc (Hons) in Audiology from University College London and began her career in the NHS in 2009. She later joined London Hearing, gaining many years of experience as a Senior Audiologist, working closely alongside leading Ear, Nose and Throat consultants at 150 Harley Street.
Driven by a strong interest in tinnitus care, Shamim went on to specialise further at The Tinnitus Clinic London Ltd, where her expertise focused on evidence-based tinnitus and hyperacusis treatments. These included customised sound therapy and the Lenire treatment, developed for the management of subjective and primary tinnitus. Shamim was among the first clinicians in the UK to fit Lenire and has successfully helped many patients significantly reduce and manage their symptoms.
Shamim has now returned to London Hearing, bringing with her a wealth of specialist knowledge. Working in close collaboration with our ENT consultants, she provides patients with a truly holistic and personalised approach to hearing loss and tinnitus care.

Freya is a highly motivated audiologist committed to enhancing patients’ quality of life through a collaborative, patient-centred approach. Freya has a particular interest in balance assessment and vestibular testing and is dedicated to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the latest hearing aid technologies to ensure optimal hearing outcomes for her patients. She works very closely with our ENT consultants to tailor assessment and management plans to everyone’s needs. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors in nature.

Dee Savvas
Dee Savvas
Dee has been the Practice Manager of both London Hearing and ENT150 since 2005. She has a wealth of management experience in medical administration and excellent communication skills which helps to keep everything running smoothly.
Prior to joining London Hearing, Dee managed UK Cord Blood Bank where she gained experience working with patients in a very busy and emotional environment.

Tony Wright specialises in the diagnosis and management of hearing and balance disorders, tinnitus and diseases of the ear including: infections, glue ear, perforations, cholesteatoma and otosclerosis. He sees patients of all ages.
He was an ENT consultant at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital until recently and was Dean of the Institute of Laryngology and Otology and then the Ear Institute at UCL for fifteen years.
His research interests focused on the effects of various drugs on the inner ear, as well as its ultrastructure and function. He raised £14m in research funds and published widely.
Tony Wright also has a law degree and undertakes medico legal work for claimants or defendants.

Paul Chatrath graduated from Cambridge University and The London Hospital Medical College with distinctions in three subjects and Proxime Accessit to the University of London Gold Medal.
He completed his ENT surgical training in London and holds a substantive NHS consultant post at Charing Cross & St Mary’s Hospitals (Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust), London. He is also Visiting Professor in Rhinology at Canterbury Christ Church University, Kent.
Professor Chatrath’s specialist interests include nose and sinus problems, allergy, cosmetic nasal deformities, children’s ENT disorders and snoring. He has a particular interest in balloon sinuplasty for the non-invasive management of sinus disease, minimally invasive pinnaplasty, titanium nasal implants for a blocked nose and complex nasal and cosmetic reconstructions.

Mr Bhattacharyya is an established Consultant ENT Surgeon with over 20 years’ experience in NHS and private practice in central and northeast London. He specialises in treating otological (ear) conditions for both adults and children.
He has carried out a number of microsurgical and laryngeal framework procedures to improve vocal function and has experience in the management of sinus disease and surgical treatment of sinusitis with functional endoscopic sinus surgery.
Abir occupies a pivotal role in educational leadership as Training Programme Director for surgeons in London and Deputy Director for Medical Education. He is also an honorary senior clinical lecturer at Barts and the London Medical School and teach medical students.

Mr Eamon Shamil is an award-winning, internationally recognised Consultant ENT and Facial Plastic Surgeon with a specialist focus on surgery of the ageing face, including facelift, neck lift and blepharoplasty (eyelid) surgery. He practices privately in 150 Harley Street, London
He is one of a small number of elite surgeons in the UK to be double board certified in both Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and ENT-Head and Neck Surgery, having completed rigorous postgraduate training and international peer review in both disciplines. Alongside his private practice, he is a substantive NHS Consultant, listed on the GMC Specialist Register for Consultants, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Mr Shamil’s practice is dedicated to surgery of the face with an expertise in facelift, neck lift, blepharoplasty , otoplasty (ear pinning), rhinoplasty and facial skin lesion surgery, with a focus on natural, refined results. He also offers botulinum toxin injections to the face.
His philosophy is built on kindness, compassion and surgical excellence. He enhances rather than alters appearance, with patients looking refreshed, confident, and a better version of themselves.
Within the NHS he regularly performs facial reconstruction for patients with facial disfigurement, and considered an expert in surgery for the paralysed face and complex septorhinoplasty. He also commonly treats adults and children with common ENT conditions such as snoring, a blocked nose, sinus problems, tonsil infections, ear infections and hearing loss.
He trained in London’s leading teaching hospitals and undertook prestigious super-specialist fellowship training in advanced facial plastic surgery at University College London Hospitals, East Grinstead, and Sydney, Australia.
In addition to clinical practice, Mr Shamil is deeply committed to education and innovation. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications, written five medical textbooks, and established multiple cadaveric dissection courses, training surgeons nationally and internationally. He has worked on international surgical programmes across Africa and the Middle East and founded the UK Global Surgery Scholarship, designed to support training opportunities for surgeons from low-resource regions.
He has been awarded numerous prizes and scholarships during his career, including from The Royal College of Surgeons, The European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, The Royal Society of Medicine, ENT UK, The British Rhinology Society, The British Association of Paediatric Otolaryngology, and The British Association of Dermatologists.

Dr Peter Savundra

Dr Savundra specialises in the treatment of dizziness and balance issues, gait and falls prevention, hearing issues and tinnitus, and supports he educational, emotional and social impacts of these conditions. He sees all ages of patients from the newborn to the elderly.
He has worked with the army, the police, on mountain and river expeditions and in sports to develop purposeful, therapeutic activities.
Dr Savundra has a background in Neurology and Neurosurgery with specialist training in Audiovestibular Medicine at Great Ormond Street, Queen Square and Gray’s Inn Road.
Peter now applies his extensive experience to medicolegal work to identify genuine injuries and their secondary complications and the causations of the symptoms to provide the Courts with recommendations on management and long term prognosis.
Peter lectures at University College London (UCL) on the neuroscience of the vestibular system and is on the Faculty of the Leicester Balance Course.

Philippa Ratcliffe has been the Head of Department for 25 years at the UK’s only specialist ENT hospital, (formerly The Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital) now renamed RNENT UCLH, London, as a Consultant Speech and Language Therapist and team manager for a specialist voice therapy team.
Philippa has over 35 years’ experience and expertise in treating people with complex voice problems, including paradoxical vocal fold movement, muscle tension dysphonia, sulcus, granuloma and vocal fold palsy. She has a special interest in performers and singers.
Philippa is also actively involved in research, and has published papers and contributed to textbooks, including the Speech Therapy for ENT disorders section of the ENT surgeons eLearning training programme and provided training videos for the BMJ.
Ms Ratcliffe provides a specialist speech and language therapy service for people with voice disorders, which may include a feeling of effort to speak, changes in quality of voice, ranging from only slight huskiness to no audible sound at all.

Dr McKenna graduated from the University of Liverpool as a clinical psychologist in 1983. He obtained a PhD from the City University on the subject of psychological aspects of tinnitus and hearing loss. He obtained a Post www.Graduate Diploma (with Distinction) in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the University of Oxford.
He has worked at the Royal National Throat Nose & Ear Hospital in the field of psychology as applied to audiology for almost four decades. In recent years he has worked to develop the application of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy in the care of patients with distressing tinnitus.
He holds an honorary academic position at University College London. Dr McKenna was a member of the Professional Advisory Committee of the British Tinnitus Association for many years.
He also worked within South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust for twenty-seven years (until 2013) in the fields of neuropsychology and adult mental health at Guy’s.
